The FCT football association have re-elected Mohammed Adam Mouktar as Chairman during the 2023 Elective Congress held in Bwari Area Council.

Speaking shortly after the swearing-in, Alhaji Mouktar who thanked the electoral committee for organising a fair, peaceful, rancour-free election, promised to build on numerous achievements recorded during his first term in office.
The Chairman of the FCT Football Association, Mohammed Adam Mouktar said he considered his re-election as a call for more service to football in the city and Nigeria as a whole.
“I consider this as a call for more service to football in the FCT and Nigeria as a whole. I will build on the numerous achievements we have recorded so far for more positive results” he said.
He thanked the delegates for the trust they reposed in him and promised not to disappoint them while in office.
“I want to thank the delegates for voting me again. This is a testament and the people have decided that I have done well and they have given me another opportunity to distinguish myself, so I will do my best and double my efforts” Alhaji Mouktar said.
Alhaji Mouktar went into the election as a sole candidate and got the votes of all the 12 delegates in the election to renew his mandate for the next four years.
However, his first vice-chairman, Hon. Saliu Kolo, who went into the race unopposed, was rejected by the delegates as he couldn’t obtain the required seven votes.
His position according to the Chairman of the FCT FA Electoral Committee, Barrister Audu Mohammed Lawal will remain vacant until the new board conducts a bye-election to fill it.
Others elected into the board of the FCT FA were former Flying Eagles assistant coach, Samuel Abimbola, a former Flying Eagles midfielder, Femi Ajilore, Babatunde Nelson, Ngozi Ezeh, Ayegba Pat Ajuma and Future Eagles coach, Patrick Bassey.
