The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service FCT-IRS has extended the filing of Annual Tax returns of Organization and Agents to March 31, 2022 following its earlier server failure.
It could be recalled that the FCT-IRS has earlier asked organizations or agents to file their annual Tax returns on or before January 31, 2022.
It also warned that failure of Organizations, Employers of Labour or Ministries Departments and Agencies to comply will attract penalties.
In a statement signed by the Acting Executive Chairman of the Service, Haruna Abdullahi and made available to Journalists in Abuja Nigeria’s capital, it hinted that their decision to extend the date was as a result of server failure experience some weeks ago which has now been restored.
Abdullahi further stressed that “We sincerely apologize to our esteemed taxpayers for the difficulty and challenges experienced in the process of payment and other services via the online channels in the past few days due to an unexpected downtime on our server. We deeply regret the inconveniences that might have caused you. We are pleased to inform you that the issue has been resolved and you can now make payment with ease,” he noted.
