FCT Minister Appoints SSA On Legal and Multi-Lateral Cooperation

The Minister of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has approved the appointment of  Barrister Benedict Daudu as his Senior Special Assistant on Legal and Multi-Lateral Cooperation.

In a statement signed by the Director of the Press office of the Minister, Mr Anthony Ogunleye and made available to journalists in Abuja said the appointment was in recognition of Barrister Daudu’s outstanding legal expertise, extensive academic background, and profound understanding of key policy issues.

Barrister Benedict Daudu, a distinguished and practising attorney in Nigeria, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Buckingham University in 2010, demonstrating his commitment to legal excellence from the outset of his career.

The statement explained that following his LLB, Barrister Daudu furthered his education by attending the Nigerian Law School between 2010 and 2012, where he honed his legal skills and deepened his understanding of Nigerian jurisprudence.

According to the statement, Daudu’s dedication to continuous learning and academic excellence led him to the prestigious George Washington University Law School, where he obtained his Master’s degree in 2013.

Barrister Daudu’s academic achievements are complemented by his extensive professional experience, which spans various areas of law. His legal practice has provided him with an in-depth understanding and practical experience in critical policy issues, including but not limited to:

Cybercrime Law: Barrister Daudu has actively engaged with the evolving landscape of cybercrime law, recognizing the significance of digital security and the protection of personal data in the contemporary world.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulation: His expertise in AML regulation underscores his commitment to maintaining the integrity of financial systems and preventing illegal financial activities.

Constitutional Law: His proficiency in constitutional law positions him as a valuable resource in interpreting and ensuring adherence to Nigeria’s legal framework.

Human Rights: Barrister Daudu’s dedication to human rights underscores his commitment to justice and equality for all citizens.

Civil Litigation Cases: With a successful track record in civil litigation, he is well-prepared to navigate complex legal matters.

West African Socio-Cultural Realities: Barrister Daudu’s keen understanding of the political and socio-cultural dynamics in West African nations, particularly Nigeria, adds a unique dimension to his role.

His working experience has seen him working in various prestigious law firms within and outside the country inclusive of JB Dauda and Co.,  Adams Law Office  LLC and Ade Okeaya and Co.

The statement said his appointment was with immediate effect.
