The Minister of the Nigerian Federal capital territory, FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike is passionate and committed to the Renewed Hope Initiative of bringing succour to the people in line with the aspirations of Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Mandate Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat, of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Mrs Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, stated this during her visit to the Chief of Kulo, Chief Solomon Hassan in Kuje Area council of the FCT.

Kulo is a rural Community in Kuje Area Council that is only accessible through Abaji Area Council.

The Community is home to an abandoned Groundnut processing factory and the Mandate Secretary’s visit was to access the facility and explore ways in which it can be revamped.

While asking the District Head to document challenges faced by the community, Mrs Adedayoa assured the community that, “the FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike is a man of his words who will deliver on his assignment in developing the nation’s Capital.”

“He is the one who has packaged this visit with the Minister Of State, Dr Mariya Mahmud , who am sure will want to visit you once she gets this report,” she added.

Earlier, the District Head of the Community, Chief Solomon Hassan, said their challenges includes lack of access road, water, electricity and employment opportunities for the Youth in the Community.

He said that he was hopeful for a positive response from the FCT Administration after meeting with the Minister recently during the Town Hall Meeting and was impressed by his plans for the FCT.

We are grateful that he has come, it would not be out of place if you relate this to him, that you went to the rural community and one of them said they were very impressed and very glad about what he has done and is planning to do for the people of Kuje Area Council; Hassan said.

The mandate secretary round up the visit with the distribution of some gift items which includes bags of rice, oils, salt, and monetary gifts to the Community.

The Women Affairs Secretariat was established in October, 2023 and will be marking 100 days on Thursday February 1st with a Press Conference at the Transcorp Hilton.
