The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reinstated the Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr Danlami Hayyo and Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr. Michael Ango.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
The Minister had ‘directed the immediate suspension of the Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr Danlami Hayyo in November 28, 2025, following a circular obtained from the Director, School Services in Secondary Education Board, SEB, Mrs Aishatu Sani Alhassan, directing the closure of all Senior secondary schools within the territory citing security concerns.’
The Acting Head of Service, Mrs Nancy Sabanti Nathan had been mandated to discipline the Director in accordance with the Civil service rules.
Similarly, the Minister had also on December 5, 2025 suspended the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr. Michael Ango and ordered the most senior official of the FCT-IRS to take over the running of the revenue agency with immediate effect.
The Minister, who warned that acts of indiscipline would not be tolerated among officials of the FCTA, directed Dr Danlami Hayyo and Michael Ango to resume duty with immediate effect.
