FCTA holds special Jumaat prayer for Nigerian children

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has held a special Jumaat prayer for Nigerian children ahead of the 2021 Children’s Day which is celebrated annually on May 27th across the country.

The special prayer session for the children was organised by the FCTA Social Development Secretariat (SDS) at the National Mosque, Abuja, to seek divine guidance and protection for the nation’s capital children

The prayer which was led by Professor Ibrahim Makari, one of the Imams of the National Mosque, prayed for Allah`s interventions in the socio-economic, political development of the Federal Capital Territory in particular and the country.

Makari, who noted that children are special gifts from the Almighty Allah, urged parents to ensure the good parental upbringing of their children.

The Imam also admonished parents to accord priority attention to the education of their children, adding that the significance of education in the life of children couldn’t be overemphasised.

He said that each and every parent would account before the almighty Allah on how he trains and look after his children on the day of judgment.

Makari, therefore, advised the government to ensure adequate protection for the rights of children and create an enabling environment for children to realize their potential.

The prayer was attended by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, who is also the President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).

Also present at the prayer were the Emir of Suleja Local Government, Niger State,  Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim, parents, guardians, educationist, clerics and thousands of Muslims from within and outside the Federal Capital City (FCC).

The FCTA would also hold a special Sunday service  on May 23 as part of activities to mark the 2021 Children Day
