FCTA promises support for youths in modern agriculture

The Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has promised to do more for the youths in modern and sustainable agricultural practices.

The FCT Secretary, Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat (ARDS) Mallam Abubakar Ibrahim disclosed this during the 13th graduation ceremony of Leventis Foundation (Nig.) FCT Agriculture School in Yaba.

He said as stakeholders in the Abuja dream of building an inclusive city, the administration would continue to make concerted efforts to redirect the energies of the teeming population into the Agricultural sector which will bring about job creation, empowerment and social equity.

Ibrahim said provision would be made for the 2021 trainees to get their starter packs soon.

The secretary explained that FCT will keep to its obligation of paying the counterpart funding which is critical to sustaining the activities of the institute.

He further stated that despite the negative impacts of COVID-19, agricultural activities would be given the desired attention by the administration.

There is no denying the fact that the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought about some setbacks but we will continue” he said.

In her remarks, the principal Leventis Foundation (Nig.) FCT Agriculture School, Mrs Agnes Yusuf disclosed that a total of 62 youths have graduated from the 2021 set out of which 19 are females.
