Ango said the minister remains committed to ensuring that Abuja residents enjoy a high-quality living environment, but noted that this can only be achieved through strong internal revenue generation to fund world-class infrastructure and essential social services.
This was made known to Journalists after the first Federal Capital Territory Administration Executive Council meeting of 2026, chaired by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike on Wednesday,
The Acting Chairman urged residents to be diligent in paying their taxes, fees, levies, ground rents, and other statutory charges due to the FCTA.
“I’m sure we can all see what this revenue is being used for,” Ango said, pointing to ongoing development projects across the capital.
“So just to reiterate what my colleague, the Director of Land, has said: where you are in default, the FCTA will have no option but to enforce our right to the revenue that is due to all of us as Abuja residents.”
He stressed the importance of voluntary compliance, describing it as a collective responsibility toward the city’s future.
“We hope and pray that those who are in default will take this as an opportunity to comply and continue to comply and support the administration, so that we can all have a world class capital city that we can all be proud of, in line with the vision of the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu.”
