In Katsina state, northwestern Nigeria, the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) has graduated 44 students with first-class honors degrees.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi revealed this at the 9th Convocation ceremony, celebrated at the University’s Campus in Dutsinma on Saturday.
Professor Bichi said 872 students earned Second Class Upper degrees, 2,273 had Second Class Lower division, while 1076 had Third Class and 17 with Pass degrees.
“We are also graduating a total of 297 Post-graduating students. Out of this number, 18 have PH.D., 26 have Academic Masters while 53 have Professional Diplomas and PGDs.”
The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the graduates for their hard work and dedication which resulted in the successes that saw them through their academic pursuit in the University.
He urged them to always remind themselves of the University’s spirit of residence, hard work, integrity, and dedication to service in what ever human endeavor they may find themselves.
Bichi said, “As you start a new life in the larger society, I encourage you to be good ambassadors of FUDMA and to deploy all the ICT skills you have acquired in this university which will assist you to excel in your chosen careers or professions.”
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university’s ongoing struggles with security, which have forced the institution to operate from its smaller, temporary campus.
Despite this constraint, Prof. Bichi emphasized the university’s recent progress in maintaining stability and adhering to its academic calendar, ensuring timely graduation for its students.
“Under my leadership, FUDMA has enjoyed a period of unprecedented peace and stability, which has supported the steady academic progress,” he added.
