FG unveils programme to digitalise public service

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated a new programme called ‘DevsinGovernment’ that aims to drive and accelerate technology and digital transformation within the public service sector of the country.

The program is designed to foster innovation and collaboration among skilled developers, designers, and other experts to enhance the quality and efficiency of public services through the adoption of modern digital tools and techniques.

Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, who announced the launch on his social media handles, said, “DevsinGovernment is a community of the technology workforce of the Federal Government of Nigeria who are passionate about advancing technology and digital transformation in government.”

Dr. Tijani emphasised that the digitalisation of public services presents a dual challenge—both an innovation challenge and a workforce optimisation challenge. Furthermore, he highlighted the government’s dedication to enhancing efficiency in public service delivery by actively empowering and fostering collaboration among technologists and technology enthusiasts within the Nigerian public sector.
