Filmmaker urges FG to provide enabling environment for technological advancement

Nollywood filmmaker, Ugezu J. Ugezu has called on the Federal Government to provide an enabling environment for technological advancements in the country.

The renowned actor and filmmaker, who took to his Instagram page on Wednesday, advised that Nigerians needed technological advancement adding that the citizens possess the skills of creating molding machines that could beat the ones being imported to the country when given the opportunity.

He added that government’s provision of environment conducive for skillful Nigerians would help the creative minds to excel and succeed.

We need technological advancement, not prayers.

“Some of our people have the technical minds, know how to create molding machines that can beat these ones here.

“But successive governments have failed to provide enabling environment for creative minds to excel and succeed.

“We have everything, but completely lacking leadership,” he wrote.

Ugezu also known as `Ayaka Global’ is involved in various aspects of filmmaking, such as directing, acting, producing, scriptwriting  and filmmaking. He is also a songwriter, singer and musician, who began his career as an actor in 2000.

The veteran actor joined Nollywood right after completing his studies and initially worked as a movie director, then transitioned into acting and movie production. He has become an esteemed figure in Nollywood, due to his versatility and innovative approach to making movies.

The renowned filmmaker has accomplished his career as a movie director with great success and also received numerous awards in Africa.

 

Some of the awards were Africa Movie Academy award, Best Movie Director in Nigeria award and Most Promising Actor in Nigeria among others.
