The Nigerian Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning has presented a draft integrated Service Delivery Charter to stakeholders, customers and clients to brainstorm on how to improve service delivery in the Nigeria’s Public sector.

At a one-day workshop on stakeholders’ input into service delivery charter in Abuja, the Director of reform coordination and service improvement department in the Ministry, Dr. Anne Nzegwu explained that Service Delivery Charter “is a statement of commitment that a department or component makes towards service delivery which should be developed to suit the needs of individual departments or components for better National Planning.”

She said, “the aim of the workshop is to have inputs of stakeholders and their expectations on the draft Service Delivery Charter document while we present our obligation.”

While identifying Service Charter as a blue print that guides operational activities of the institutions, she explained that the final validation of the completed document will be presented by the Minister to the public.

“The National Planning is like a think tank of government that serves as the first point of contact with every international development planner coming into Nigeria. One of the things that drives service Charter is good governance anchored on transparency and accountability.”She added.

The workshop brought together participants from various MDA’s, and other stakeholders.
