Fire has gutted the popular Gamboru Market in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, Borno State, destroying goods worth millions of Naira on Saturday, March 18.
The Gamboru Market is an alternative market and the second largest market in Maiduguri after the burnt Monday Market.
The market is a popular market for foods and perishable goods. It is about 3 to 4 kilometres away from the inferno Monday market.
Officials of the fire Service were able to quench the fire swiftly.
A popular Biu market in Biu Local government area was also on fire but the fire service officials were able to stop it on time with little damage.
