Nigerian afrobeat artist Fireboy lit up the stage at the sold-out Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, Canada, on 5 August, delivering an unforgettable concert experience to his fans.

The award-winning Afrobeats star thrilled the audience with a vibrant setlist featuring hits from his acclaimed fourth studio album, Adedamola, released in 2024. He was joined on stage by guest performers including Lojay, BNXN, and the iconic masked musician, Lagbaja.

One of the night’s highlights was a rare appearance by Lagbaja, who performed Back and Forth, his collaborative track with Fireboy from Adedamola. The album was widely celebrated as one of the top Nigerian projects of 2024.

Lagbaja’s presence added a legendary touch to the evening. Known for keeping his identity concealed for nearly three decades, the saxophonist has made few public appearances in recent years. Before this show, his last known performance was at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, where he appeared alongside Afrobeats sensation Rema.

Fireboy’s Toronto concert not only delivered a powerful musical experience but also offered fans the rare treat of seeing the reclusive Lagbaja perform live. Music executive Bankulli praised the event, calling it a testament to Fireboy’s genuine connection with his fanbase.

“Fireboy DML built an amazing organic fanbase that can never be taken away,” Bankulli remarked on Instagram, sharing clips from the concert.

During the show, Fireboy also performed Dopamine, his first single of 2025, along with a crowd-favourite rendition of Peru one of Afrobeats’ most internationally successful tracks.
