Estate Surveyors and Valuers in Nigeria have submitted Proposals for the sale of assets forfeited to the Nigerian government.
The Chairman, Inter-Ministerial Committee on Disposal of the Nigerian Government Forfeited Assets, Mr Dayo Apata, at the Public Openeing of the bid in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital said that out of the three hundred and fifty-five proposals submitted; only five were rejected.
The events follow the recommendations made by the Presidential Audit Committee on Recovery, efficient and effective Management of Stolen Assets both within and outside the country.
In compliance with the directives, an Inter-Ministerial Committee on Disposal of Nigerian Government Forfeited Assets was set up by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to provide legal and administrative frameworks for the investigation, tracing, seizure and disposal of stolen or illegally acquired assets and proceeds of crime in Nigeria.

Assets being disposed were those already fortified to the Nigerian government through court order.
