The wife of the President of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered over 200 individuals in Anambra State through her Renewed Hope Agricultural Support Program.

During the item distribution ceremony held at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, presented the empowerment items on behalf of Senator Tinubu.

She emphasized that the beneficiaries were selected through a transparent and random process that carefully considered individual criteria for the training and empowerment programs.

This medium-scale agricultural initiative targets individuals across various age groups who are eager to build livelihoods through agro-businesses.

“The beneficiaries participated in a two-day hands-on training program that covered a range of areas, including feed processing, drip irrigation installation, vegetable farming, and piggery. Each successful trainee received essential start-up tools designed to facilitate their expertise in their respective fields.

Mrs. Soludo highlighted that the selection process ensured equal representation from a range of groups, including women’s organizations, youth associations, political groups, and school clubs.

She reiterated that economic empowerment is a core objective of the Renewed Hope Initiative, which aims to empower both women and youth across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones to support the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Earlier, Dr. Afam Obidike, the state Commissioner for Health, expressed confidence that the initiative would yield positive results in transforming agriculture within the state.

He assured that the beneficiaries would be monitored to ensure they effectively utilize the tools and knowledge acquired during the training.

Mrs. Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, added that the state government’s agricultural initiatives aim to empower individuals to make a direct impact on their lives.

Some beneficiaries, including Queen Anigbogu, Raphael Onwughalu, Chinyere Udeozor, and Hillary Obiajulu, shared that the empowerment tools would significantly enhance their agricultural practices.

The distribution of the empowerment items and additional cash support marked the highlight of the ceremony.
