Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has urged parents to encourage their children and wards to be innovative to improve the nation’s productivity and boost the economy.

Mrs Tinubu gave this advice in Owerri during a meeting with the State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, the 27 Local Government Chairmen and the Council of Traditional Rulers in the state led by its Chairman, Eze Emmanuel Okeke, the Eze of Owerri.

The First Lady said the present state of the nation is robust enough to the level of attracting foreign investors.

She said the administration led by President Bola Tinubu is trying its best to make life better for everyone.

“My advice is we as parents, we should begin to teach our children how to be innovative, the world is changing, change is constant,” she said

“We are talking about Artificial Intelligence and there are lots of technologies. Our children should be able to think out of the box because business is no longer as usual.

“During the COVID, some people became millionaires but those are the people who can do things differently, it is the same thing, just to know how to think about it differently and with a different approach.

“We have mineral resources that the world needs, we should start thinking about how we are going to put it into productive use,” she added

The First Lady further encouraged Nigerians to value agriculture.

“People should go back to the farm.

“We should bring this Nigeria back to its glory so that we can all have peace and security in this nation.

“When things become better, our children should be there to take over all the investment and the increase of what we have tilled the land for,” she said.

Earlier, Governor Hope Uzodinma appreciated President Bola Tinubu, the First Lady Vice President Kashim Shettima and his wife for always reaching out to the state.

The Governor appealed to Nigerians to see more of the positive strides of the President which are coming at a time of wars in Ukraine, Russia and Israel with their adverse effects on the world economy.

He disclosed that the presidency and the RHI, an Initiative of Senator Oluremi Tinubu had sent lots of food items and other items to the people ahead of the Yuletide.

“Today is our smiling day in Imo because we have seen one of our own.

“We want to thank the President for giving 50 trailers of rice to be sold at N40 to Imo indigenes.

“Our children have also enjoyed numerous scholarships and other benefits from the RHI,” the Governor stated.

Eze Emmanuel Okeke on behalf of the council of traditional rulers also commended the first lady for fulfilling her promise by returning to appreciate them for supporting President Bola Tinubu.
