Flood: Borno Govt Constitutes Relief Disbursement Committee

Governor Babagana Zulum has organised a 32-member committee on flood disaster relief distribution for victims of the Maiduguri flood.

This was announced in a statement from the secretary to the Borno government, Bukar Tijjani.

The committee has Baba Gujubawu, the governor’s special adviser on monitoring/evaluation, as chairman, while Ibrahim Umara of the University of Maiduguri is co-chairman.

Other members include representatives of the North-East Development Commission, police, EFCC, ICPC, SSS, NSCDC, NEMA, SEMA, religious and traditional rulers, and relevant ministries, departments and agencies.

Representatives of United Nations organisations in Borno and civil society organisations will also serve as members.
