Flutterwave, FIRS Partner to Digitise Tax Collection in Nigeria
Flutterwave, a leading African payments technology company, has partnered with Nigeria’s Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to digitise tax collection across the country.
This collaboration aims to simplify tax compliance by providing multiple digital payment options, real-time reporting, and offline capabilities for taxpayers with limited internet access.
With this partnership, businesses and individuals can now pay taxes, levies, and other statutory fees using Flutterwave’s secure and efficient digital infrastructure. The integration allows for real-time tracking of tax payments, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in revenue collection. Nigerians both locally and in the diaspora will also benefit from seamless and secure tax payment solutions.
Flutterwave’s CEO, Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola, emphasised the company’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive efficiency and economic growth. He noted that by making tax payments easier and more transparent, Flutterwave is contributing to the digitisation of government collections and supporting national development.
“At Flutterwave, we are committed to leveraging technology to drive efficiency and economic growth. By making tax payments easier and more transparent, we are helping to digitize government collections and support national development which is in line with our mission,” he said
This initiative aligns with FIRS’s broader strategy to modernise revenue collection and enhance the taxpayer experience. By adopting digital payment solutions, the government aims to improve compliance rates and streamline the tax collection process, marking a significant step towards strengthening Nigeria’s digital financial ecosystem.
