Nigeria’s U-20 national teams, the Flying Eagles and Falconets are both set to resume training camps in Abuja tomorrow to begin preparations for the men’s and women’s football events of the 13th African Games scheduled for Accra, Ghana in March.

Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso has invited a total of 30 players to camp, from which a final list will be drawn to represent the country at the men’s football event, with Nigeria aiming for gold after winning the silver medal at the last edition of the Games in Rabat, Morocco in 2019.

Bosso led the Flying Eagles to the quarter-finals of last year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, the same stage he steered the team to in Canada in 2007.

On his part, Falconets head, coach Chris Danjuma, who has led his 2022 World Cup quarter-finalists to earn a ticket to this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, has called up 23 players.

The invited players for both the men’s and women’s teams have been advised to report at the Agete Luxury Hotel in Gwarinpa Estate, Abuja tomorrow by the Nigeria Football Federation.

The Flying Eagles will play Uganda, South Sudan, Senegal and Tunisia in that order in the group stage of the 13th African Games (formerly All-Africa Games), while the Falconets will be up against Morocco, Senegal and Cameroon.
