The Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture has played host to the Consul General of the Netherlands and his team at the Food Logistics Hub in Epe, Lagos state, Southwestern, Nigeria.

The hub, adjudged as “Africa’s largest food logistic park, on completion is expected to create more than seven thousand jobs and solve the food problem of over five million people.”

Sited on one-point-two million square metres of land, the Central Food System and Logistics Hub will “connect farmers” in Lagos, Southwest, and other parts of Nigeria to a ‘direct market.’

Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, who took the Dutch team on a tour of the site in Ketu-Ereyun, Epe, was feasibly elated along with her visitors.

With ‘collaborations’ between Nigeria and the Netherlands, and multiple capacity building and enterprise development support given, the Dutch have continued to display their interest in the Nigerian food systems, and its positioning in the transformation of it.

With the “Lagos State Government taking the lead in establishing infrastructure to cater to the downstream of the food systems, food security is assured for the people.”

Below are some of the pictures taken during the tour in Epe, Lagos.
