Force Commander MNJTF Charges Troops To Protect Unarmed Civilians

Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) deployed in the Lake Chad basin have been changed to remain vigilant and ensure the safety of civilian populations.

The Force Commander MNJTF, Major General Gold Chibuisi gave the charge during an operational visit to troops in Baga, Cross Kauwa and Bosso in Sectors 3 and 4 of Nigeria and Niger Republic on respectively.

A statement by the Military Military Public Information Officer, MNJTF Ndjemena- Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi said the Commander assured the troops that the MNJTF is committed to providing the necessary support for their operations.

He also encouraged the troops to work collaboratively with other security agencies and local leaders towards ensuring peace and security in the region.

General Chibuisi also calls upon all citizens in the region to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

He reiterated that the MNJTF remains committed to its mandate, and in collaboration with other security agencies, it will continue to protect the citizens, combat insurgency and promote peace and security in the Lake Chad basin region.

More Support
The Force Commander appreciated the local leaders for their continuous support towards the MNJTF and national operations.

The visit to the Bosso Regional Mayor Arimi Shattima provided an opportunity for him to appeal for more support from local leaders and citizens towards the MNJTF operations.

The Force Commander acknowledged that a united effort is necessary to combat the threats to peace and security in the region.
