Former Lawmaker Mailantarki emerges as Gombe NNPP Governorship Candidate

Mr. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki has emerged as the Gubernatorial Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Gombe State.

342 delegates from the 11 Local Government Area of the state affirmed Mailantarki’s emergence during its primary held in Gombe.

He is now joining the incumbent Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress and Mr. Muhammad Jibrin Barde of the People’s Democratic party to contest for the governorship seat of the state in 2023.

The Returning Officer of the Gombe NNPP Gubernatorial Primaries, Mr. Shuaibu Pindiga, said Mr. Mailantarki was the only gubernatorial aspirant of the party in the state.

Mr. Mailantarki, is a former member of the House of Representatives, for Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2015.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Mailantarki thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed on him and pledged that he would dedicate his victory to the good people of Gombe State.

“The voice of the delegates is a voice of victory; you’ve confidently delivered us today, and it’s a victory not only for me or our party but for the entire Gombites,” said Mr. Mailantarki.

He  said his mission was to rescue the state and restore hope amongst the citizens of Gombe State, through the resuscitation of the civil service, revamping of the business communities, harnessing the potentials that abound in sports and the strengthening of the traditional institutions.

Food Security
According to Mr. Mailantarki, agriculture will be harnessed to boost food security and provide employment for the youths while empowering women  groups.

He said he would bring his wealth of experience in agribusiness to impact on the agricultural sector in the state if elected governor in 2023.

“As of today producing, Mailantarki’s farm is producing 10,000kg of catfish every week and with the ongoing expansion, we’ll be producing 30,000kg in the next few months. With 1,000,000 fingerlings every two months feeding the larger segment of the residents of the capital territory, Abuja under the Mailantarki’s farm, we will replicate the same in Gombe State,” Mr. Mailantarki said.

He also said his football academy had taken five youths from Gombe State to two European clubs for them to develop their football career.

The NNPP Gubernatorial Candidate expressed hope that his party would get good results to win the 2023 elections from the national to the state levels, but appealed to his supporters to continue in that line.
