Former Military President commends FUT Minna

Former Nigeria’s Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has showed interest in partnering  with the Federal University of Technology Minna in Niger state, North Central Nigeria.

General Babangida stated this during a courtesy call by members of the University governing council led by the Pro-Chancellor, Professor Olu Obafemi.

General Babangida who expressed delight over the visit, said he has tremendous interest in the growth of the University and he is proud of the institution, which he noted has been doing well.

Speaking during the visit, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Olu Obafemi,  expressed delight at meeting the former President whom he described as a man of wisdom and a front line patriot.

Professor Obafemi said General Babangida is a pillar to the growth of FUT, Minna and that he remains a patriarch to the institution which has evolved to become one of the best in the country.

“I am confident that the University you nurtured is growing in leaps and bounds and it is not disappointing you,” added Prof Obafemi.

He further expressed gratitude to Gen. Babangida over the building housing the University’s campus radio, ‘Search FM 92,’ donated by his son, Dr. Muhammad Babangida.

The Pro Chancellor however leaded with their host to use his influence to further help in making the University more secured to ensure unhindered academic progress.

Federal University of Technology Minna, was established in 1983, With Professor Jonathan Ndagi as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor.
