Former NNPP North East Secretary defects to PDP

Former North East Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Dr. Babayo Liman, has defected to the People’ Democratic Party, PDP.

Speaking with journalists in Gombe, Dr. Liman, who was the North East Campaign Coordinator of the Kwankwasiyya Movement for the Presidential Candidate of the NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, said if elected into office, the Presidential Candidate of the PDP would replicate the track record of the 16-year rule of the PDP in Nigeria.

He said the 16-year rule of the PDP in Nigeria was an achievement on its own.

Dr. Liman said he was defecting purposely to support the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and called on the over 600 thousand members in Gombe State to join the train of supporters of the PDP Presidential Candidate, as well as other candidates of the PDP across board.

If Atiku Abubakar becomes the president of this nation, come 2023, definitely he will do everything possible to restore peace and tranquility in Nigeria and to promote the issue of security and progress of our people,” said Dr Liman.

He said he was going round the six states in the zone to announce his defection, along with the Zonal Women Leader and the Zonal Publicity Secretary.

Dr. Liman said he was confident of Atiku’s victory in the presidential race, thereby urging the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party to quit the race and join Atiku to the victory, which according to him, Atiku is sure to win.

At the end of the event in Gombe, former members of the party , including the former North East Officials, removed the Red-Cap, which is the symbol of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and gathered them for onward transmission and delivery to the party in Abuja.
