Former President Buhari To Be Buried Tuesday In Daura

The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.

The Katsina State Governor,  Umar Dikko Radda confirmed the arrangements while addressing journalists in Katsina.

He said, following consultations with the late President’s family and close associates in London, it was agreed that Buhari’s body would arrive in Katsina by noon on Tuesday.

The funeral prayer will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Daura, by Islamic rites.

Governor Radda extended his condolences to the bereaved family and the nation, describing the late President as a symbol of unity, discipline, and dedicated service.

In honour of Buhari, the Katsina State Government and other North West states have declared Tuesday a public holiday.

Meanwhile, sympathisers continue to troop to Buhari’s residence in Daura to pay their respects. Notable visitors so far include former Senate President Ahmed Lawan, former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar III, and former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari, among others.
