The former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has commissioned the 22 km dual carriage way project in Jalingo, Taraba state capital.

He applauded the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku for using his skills as an architect to develop the state.

Governor Ishaku said the state is second to last in federal allocation and the 35th in Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) among the 36 States in the country adding that he delivered the dividends of democracy to the people of the state despite its meagre resources

“Despite the scarcity of resources in Taraba, it is important for me to appropriately manage the resources available and put them to proper and greater use for the benefit of the people. I have managed Taraba better than anyone even with the meagre resources we have. I’ve been identified by ICAN as among the top 5 governors who managed the resources of their states despite the state generating little revenue and receiving less from federal allocation.”

The governor further stated, β€œIt is a demonstration of what I have learnt from my principal, Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as he committed himself to infrastructural development which he has passed down to us to ensure that we resuscitate and rehabilitate any of the infrastructure within our states.”

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has been the governor of Taraba for eight years and he will be handing over on May 29, 2023
