The NGO’s Founder and Executive Director, Chief Adedoyin Ibikunle-Eshanumi, while distributing the foodstuffs, said the initiative was aimed at reaching out to the less-privileged people in the communities during the Easter celebration.

She noted that the death and resurrection of Christ signified God’s love and sacrifice for mankind, stressing the need to extend the same love to the vulnerable in the society at all times.

She revealed that the NGO had been helping vulnerable women and widows through monthly empowerment outreach to alleviate their suffering especially from the current economic hardships.

Ibikunle-Eshanumi said that the foundation also distributed foodstuff to over 350 indigent women in rural communities during 2023 Christmas celebrations.

“The humanitarian gesture is part of our foundation’s vision to reach out to the less-privileged and the vulnerable widows to alleviate their suffering in their time of need. These humanitarian activities are being carried out in this area from time to time and it will continue as a way of improving the well-being of the indigent in the society,” she said.

She urged other NGOs, well-spirited individuals and corporate organisations to emulate Christ’s love for mankind by reaching out to the less-privileged in the society.

Ibikunle-Eshanumi solicited the support of corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals for a better social welfare for the less-privileged, especially in the rural areas.

She commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in stemming the tide of economic hardship in the country. She urged the people to continue to support the president for a better Nigeria.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Rhoda Adebayo, thanked the foundation for extending the love of Christ to widows during Easter celebrations and always.

“We are grateful to Chief Adedoyin Ibikunle-Eshanumi for remembering the vulnerable widows and giving us food to eat during this Easter and several other times. May God bless her,” Adebayo said.

The items distributed include, semovita, rice, spaghetti, noodles, seasonings, amongst others.
