A Non Governmental Organisation, known as Prince Michael Atobatele Foundation, PMAF has empowered Nigerian Youths and less previleged entrepreneurs in Lagos state.
The Foundation at its 2022 Annual Memorial Summit and empowerment programme tagged ” Beyond education” gifted Hair dryers, clippers, Gas cooker and cylinders, sewing machines, textile chemicals as well as other food stuff items as contribution to supporting the less privileged youth entrepreneurs.
The Chairman of the ocassion, Dr. Olufemi Omololu, a Medical Director at the Lagos Islands Maternity Hospital, expressed delight over the gesture of the foundation on giving back to the society.
According to the medical practitioner who became part of the Foundation and donor three years ago, charity is what everyone should be eager to do, knowing that things are not easy in the country but with empowerment of such, it is a great move to be abke to impart on others to succeed.
On sustaining the legacy six years after its establishment, the mother of the late founder and convener, Princess Oluwatoyin Rachael Atobatele said it’s been grace of God and support from few friends that has kept her going on with the foundation, having lost her son and founder, Prince Michael Atobatele in 2016.
She said the beneficiaries were carefully drawn from various skills acquisitions on merit.
“We have the standards of selecting the beneficiaries based on performance, so we empowered the barbers with clippers, sewing machines for fashion designers, hair dressers with dryers, cooking gas for the caterers as well as those in textile with chemical and we hope to do more next year,” Princess Atobatele said.
The event was graced by the Lagos state Ministry of Women Affairs and poverty Alleviation. Head, Skill Acquisition Develooment unit of the Ministry, Adejoke Oshodi-Olasunkanmi was press t to represent t the Ministry.
PMAF is set up to contribute to Nigeria’s socio-economic development by inspiring an entrepreneur mindset in less-privileged youths and challenging them through empowerment with necessary skills towards actualising their dreams.
The Foundation was established by the family in memory of their late son, Prince Babatunde Michael Atobatele, a young , vibrant business entrepreneur, fashion connoisseur and visionary who died in 2016.
The foundation has since continued to promote aspiring entrepreneurs with bright future in pursuing their dearms of creating better life for themselves and the society at large.
