In a bid to strengthen transparency and public accountability in the nation’s affairs, the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) is hosting a two-day citizen-government engagement forum on 29 and 30 July 2025 in Kaduna.
The event aims to evaluate the performance of the administration of President Ahmed Tinubu.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director General of the Foundation, Abubakar Umar, who described the forum as a platform to “bridge the gap between government policy and public perception,” while ensuring that citizens are not only heard but also informed.
The event will bring together Government officials, Political analysts, Policy experts, and citizens to discuss critical national issues across key sectors, including National Security, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Social Services, Governance, and the Economy.
According to the statement, “there is a pressing need for honest conversations between the government and the governed.”
Noting the importance of the event, he said the engagement is designed to dispel misinformation, enhance transparency, and promote a culture of responsive governance.
The Director emphasised on the Foundation’s dedication on fostering national progress through open dialogue and inclusive participation.
“As a Foundation, we remain deeply committed to the ideals of our founding father, Sir Ahmadu Bello, who championed service, accountability, and unity. We believe this event will contribute meaningfully to socio-economic development and democratic consolidation in Nigeria,” he stressed.
The event which is scheduled for 29 and 30 of July 2025, will feature interactive panel sessions, keynote addresses, and public question and answer forums, providing avenue for feedback between citizens and government representatives.
The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation continues to honor the legacy of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria by supporting initiatives that foster accountability, unity, and progress across the nation.
