The Akpoazaa Foundation is set to cover the school, WAEC, and JAMB fees for 1,000 indigent students in Anambra State, marking a significant step in its commitment to education.

At a press conference in Awka on Friday, Dr. Frank Igbojindu, CEO of the Akpoazaa Foundation, emphasised that investment in education serves as an effective means of preserving wealth for future generations, countering the stereotype that education is a scam often held by many youths.

“Good education can indirectly solve half of personal and societal challenges and foster national development. At Akpoazaa Foundation, we firmly believe that education is the key to a brighter future in Nigeria,” Dr. Igbojindu stated, addressing the prevalent notion that education is a futile pursuit.

He outlined the foundation’s objectives for 2025, which include investments in education and vocational training for underprivileged individuals in Anambra and across the southeastern region.

“Our goal is to empower our youth to be educated, self-reliant, and capable of making meaningful contributions to society,” he added.

Dr. Igbojindu noted that as part of the initiative, the foundation will launch the Akpoazaa Media Factory, aimed at equipping 1,000 youths with essential skills to fill critical gaps in the media industry.

Additionally, to celebrate Dr. Igbojindu’s 40th birthday, the foundation will sponsor the school, WAEC, and JAMB fees for the selected 1,000 indigent students, along with funding the Dozzy Quiz Competition at Legacy University Okija, Anambra.

Igbojindu also announced a state-level teachers’ competition, as well as mathematics and Igbo Quiz competitions for senior secondary schools. He added that the foundation also plans to select 250 Junior Secondary 1 students from the Southeast to benefit from its scholarship scheme.

“A Southeast University Quiz competition and accolades for the best graduating students from Nnamdi Azikiwe University are also on the agenda,” he said.

In a demonstration of community support, Dr. Igbojindu revealed that a three-bedroom bungalow is currently under construction for a widow in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area and will be handed over in April.

He extended his gratitude to the De Imperial philanthropic family, Dr. Ernest Obiejesi, and Dr. Daniel Chukwudozie for their ongoing support of education and humanitarian efforts.

“The Akpoazaa Foundation is dedicated to fostering change and creating a brighter future for our youth. We also urge well-meaning individuals and organisations to support our cause,” Dr. Igbojindu concluded.
