As the March 18th gubernatorial elections draws nearer, four opposition political Parties which comprise the New Nigeria People Party, NNPP, Action Alliance, AA, Social Democratic Party, SDP, and People’s Redemption Party, PRP, have debunked speculations that they have stepped down for the ruling APC gubernatorial candidate in Nasarawa state.

They stated this during a joint press conference in Lafia, the Northcentral Nasarawa capital.

Speaking, NNPP guber Candidate, Abdullahi Maidoya said that, the conference centered on the ongoing insinuation that Maidoya and other opposition parties candidates step down for Engr. A. A. Sule ahead of the March, 18th gubernatorial election.

Maidoya further pointed out that the coalition of the political parties to come out with an unanimous candidate among the 4 contestants, would soon be known.

He said the Meeting came at the right time, noting that they will not step down for the candidate of the All progressives Congress, and have no intention of withdrawing from the race, saying their Campaign is focused and determined.

Any one of us is capable of dethroning the incumbent Governor because, for the period he serves, the State recorded insignificant achievements and people already are tired of APC, but we want to beat him with a wide margin that is why we have decided to come together to form a strong alliance and salvage the State from misrule”, Maidoya said.

Also speaking, the SDP guber candidate, Mohammed Alfa-Inyas, maintained that the Governorship candidates all agreed to speak with one voice to emerge victorious on Saturday Elections, calling on the public and their supporters to be under one umbrella for meaningful Development.

Inyas, added that the issue of religion and tribalism is not acceptable and will not be welcomed, urging all the political parties to ensure governance and transparency to change the narrative come 18th March.

The Governorship candidates of the parties who came together are senator Yusuf Musa Nagogo of the PRP, Muhammad Alfa Inyas of the SDP, Abdullahi Kani from the AA and Abdullahi Maidoya of the NNPP.
