Four senators elect were on Tuesday, sworn in as senators of the federal republic of Nigeria and one of them is a former state Governor.
The newly sworn in senators were; Seriake Dickson as a senator, representing Bayelsa West, Cleopas Moses representing Bayelsa Central, Senator Nora Ladi Daduut representing Plateau South and Michael Adetokunbo Abiru representing Lagos East.
Senator Seriake Dickson is the immediate past Governor of the oil rich Bayelsa state in Southern Nigeria.
Two of the newly sworn in lawmakers, Senator Nora Ladi Daduut and Senator Adetokunbo Abiru replace Late Senator Bayo Osinowo; and Senator Ignatius Longjan.
President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan, in his remarks after the inauguration ceremony, urged Nigerians to support the legislature to ensure that they make laws that would be of immence benefit to the entire country.
He also assured Nigerians that the ninth senate would work in a bypertisan manner to ensure a speedy development of the Economy.
