The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State is urging road users to prioritise their safety to prevent road accidents and protect their lives.

During the 37th Customer Service Week celebration themed ‘Above and Beyond’, Sector Commander Mrs. Joyce Alexander emphasized the importance of individual responsibility in ensuring road safety.

“Every motorist is aware of what is right or wrong and should not rely solely on FRSC officials for enforcement to make our roads safe and accident-free,” Alexander stated.

She pointed out the need for road users to take personal responsibility for their safety, noting the disparity in behavior when traveling abroad versus in Nigeria, indicating a lack of consistency in following traffic rules.

Alexander stressed the importance of preventive measures, education on road safety, and the various services provided by the FRSC, including patrol activities, emergency response, rescue operations, and safety checks.

Furthermore, she highlighted efforts to address issues such as driver’s license production, road maintenance recommendations to state governments, and collaboration with stakeholders in the transport sector to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

The celebration also recognised the contributions of FRSC staff and other stakeholders in promoting road safety during the customer service week festivities.
