FRSC confirms14 dead as Trailer rams into Kano Mosque

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Kano state North West Nigeria, has confirmed the death of 14 persons when a Trailer ran into them during Friday congregational prayers.
It added that many sustained various degrees of injuries during the accident.
A press statement by FRSC Kano state Sector Commander, Ibrahim Abdullahi through corps spokesman, Abdullahi Labaran said, the incident was reported at 13.50hrs.
Abdullahi explained that nine of the deceased have been buried while those injured are receiving treatment at a hospital.
He said that the accident occurred at Imawa town, Kura local government area of Kano State, shortly after the Friday prayer when the driver of the trailer coming from Kaduna axis with registration number MKA 537XN lost control and ran into the worshippers.
The FRSC spokesperson also said the driver of the trailer is at large.
Abdullahi emphasized the FRSC’s commitment to road safety and urged all road users to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent any avoidable tragedies.
‘’The Sector Commander extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.’’
