In a significant step towards enhancing digital infrastructure and fostering economic development, Nigeria’s IT infrastructure provider, Galaxy Backbone Ltd (GBB), and the Bauchi State Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to deploy digital infrastructure and ICT-related services across the state.
The signing ceremony, held at Bauchi State Government House, was attended by the Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, and the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Muhammed.
In a statement, the Head of Corporate Communications at GBB, Mr Chidi Okpala, noted that the MOU establishes a collaborative framework between Galaxy Backbone and the Bauchi State Government. It leverages GBB’s world-class data centre infrastructures in Abuja and Kano to enhance connectivity, build ICT capacity, provide consultancy services, and deliver hosted ICT services to improve governance and service delivery in the state.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment to transforming Bauchi State through ICT. It is anticipated that the state’s ICT infrastructure will be enhanced, training and consultancy services will be deepened, investments will be attracted, and economic opportunities will be driven by improving digital connectivity and service delivery.
