Four Nigerian professors with engineering backgrounds have been appointed to key positions at the University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET) in Gambia.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director-General, of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Buba Yakubu, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
According to him, the professors were selected after a thorough process and will take on roles as the current Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Owusu-Ofori, steps down.
The appointed professors are:
– Professor. Nazmat Surajudeen-Bakinde as Vice-Chancellor,
– Professor. Ado Yusuf Abdulfatah as Vice-Chancellor (Academics),
– Professor Akinlabi Oyetunji as Director of Research and Grants,
– Professor. David Terfa Gundu as Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance
The Director-General added that the move follows Nigeria’s Technical Aid Corps scheme, which provides technical assistance to Gambia, highlights the partnership between both nations in education and technical cooperation
