Gambia Forms Special Panel to Investigate Coup Plot

The Gambian government has opened an 11-member joint investigative panel.

Report says the panel is meant to probe the alleged coup plot it foiled last week.

According to a government spokesperson, Ebrima Sankareh said that “The investigators have 30 days effective today to investigate, prepare and submit their report on the alleged coup plot.”

So far, the West African nation has arrested eight soldiers and one civilian who are still being held for investigation purposes.
