‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Resumes Filming After Production Shutdown

The Game of thrones prequel production ‘House of the Dragons’ has resumed on schedule following the two-day pause due to Covid-19.

According to Entertainment weekly, the filming of the prequel resumed on Wednesday as planned following the brief production halt.

The ‘House of Dragon’ series, which films in the United Kingdom was paused on Monday right after a member of the production tested positive for COVID-19. In compliance with the show’s own rigorous testing protocols and general industry guidelines, the production member with a positive test went into isolation, with close contacts required to quarantine as well. A two-day pause was implemented, and it has confirmed that production has now resumed as scheduled.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire and Blood, House of the Dragon is set hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones.
The series stars Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, and more. Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal are showrunners.

The pause in production due to Covid-19 is coming after Netflix’s indefinite pause on the production of the second season of ‘Bridgerton’ following its second recorded positive case.

House of the Dragon is currently planned to hit HBO Max in 2022.
