Gbagyi Elders Forum has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for a ‘Greater Nigeria’.
The commendation came in recognition of the appointment of Mr. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, (one of Gbagyi illustrious sons) as the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees Gbagyi Elders Forum, Mr. Peterson Kaura made the commendation during a press conference to commemorate Gbagyi Day celebration in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Mr. Kaura who is also the ‘Kauran Minna’ said the appointment of Mr. Jisalo as the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs is crucial for the unity of the nation.
He also said that this singular appointment not only “recognises Abuja as a federating unit but that it has granted Gbagyi who constitute the majority of the indigenes of FCT a representation in government”.
The Press conference marked the maiden edition of the unveiling of Gbagyi Elders Forum and charts a course for greater unity, integration and development of the Gbagyi nation.
Mr Kaura also disclosed that the unveiling of the Gbagyi Elders Forum marks “a movement towards peaceful actualisation and sustainability for the future development of the Gbagyi people and Nigeria as a whole.”
The forum noted that they placed priority on “dialogue over conflict; negotiations over protest and brain over brawl”.
