General Lagbaja lauds RSMs contribution to Nigerian Army’s advancement

Regimental Sergeant Majors have been described as critical stakeholders in the Nigerian Army advancement.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja stated this at the Second Regimental Sergeant Majors Convention 2023, held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The COAS expressed concern over the decline in the quality of Regimental Sergeant Majors at some point in the Nigerian Army and said this necessitated ideas such as the RSM’s Convention to be put in place.
According to a statement by the Deputy Director Army Public Relations 2 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ekeocha, Lieutenant General Lagbaja urged participants to take the lessons, contributions and pertinent ideas raised during the convention to their various formations and units for implementation.
During the course highlight, the Army Chief of Administration, Major General Jimmy Akpor, appreciated the Chief of Army Staff for the opportunity given for the convention.
He stated that the convention is coming at a right time when it would help equip personnel in good administrative delivery.
At the convention, lectures bordering on Troops motivation, mentorship skills, Emotional Intelligence and Leadership were discussed.
