Ghana vs Nigeria : Black Stars open camp March 21
The Black Stars of Ghana will open camp on March 21 at the Cape Coast Stadium ahead of the FIFA 2022 World Cup Play-Off.
According to GHANAsoccernet, the players are expected to start arriving on March 20 while the camp will officially open on March 21.
Although Coach Atto Addo has submitted the squad list to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) the federation is yet to make it public.
The squad is expected to be dominated by players that featured at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon while some debutants who are active in their clubs will be part of the team.
GHANAsoccernet confirmed that all the players listed by Coach Addo have received their invitation for the two-legged encounters and they are expected to start arriving on Sunday March 20.
Meanwhile, words are rife that there may be a last-minute change of venue for the March 25 first leg of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Play-Off involving Nigeria and Ghana.
This followed the petition sent to FIFA by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the poor state of the Cape Coast pitch which is supposed to host the first leg of the encounter on March 25.
With the FIFA inspection team expected to visit the stadium this week, a report emanating from Ghana confirmed the world football ruling body may have given the Ghana Football Association (GFA) the option of hosting the first leg in Benin Republic or Morocco.
The report of the FIFA inspection team will determine the final decision on the venue of the first leg of the clash on March 25.
