GITEX AFRICA: Nigeria Meets Global Tech Giants, Woos Investors

Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, a delegation at the ongoing GITEX Africa in Morocco, has met the global tech giants, including VISA, Kaspersky and Raya International Service.

The meeting aimed at attracting investments to Nigeria and boosting the economy through digital job creation.

The meeting, which was led by representatives of the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, Dr Aristotle Onumo, Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy, is part of NITDA’s efforts to promote Nigeria as a destination for investment in the technology sector.

 

The NITDA representatives discussed the potential for investment in Nigeria’s technology sector and the opportunities for developing the requisite digital skills through collaboration between the Nigerian government and the Private sector.

The representatives from VISA, Kaspersky and Raya International Service were impressed with Nigeria’s growing technology sector and expressed their interest in investing in the country.

They also applauded the Nigerian government’s commitment to digitising government services and developing the information technology sector which will ultimately create jobs and prosperity for all.

According to NITDA, “The meeting was a positive step towards attracting investment to Nigeria’s information technology sector and creating jobs for the youthful population as well as positioning Nigeria as a leading player in the global digital space.”

The Agency also restated its commitment towards working with the private sector to develop Nigeria’s technology sector and create a more prosperous future for all Nigerians through its digital transformation programmes.

 

NITDA’s participation in GITEX Africa is a sign of its commitment to promoting digital innovation in Nigeria and Africa.
