The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Gombe State debunks rumours that all executive officers in the 11 wards of the party in Yamatu Deba have resigned from the positions in solidarity with Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje.

Speaking with journalists in Gombe, the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Gombe State, Ambassador Moses Kyari, said the rumours making the rounds were all false because nothing of a sort happened as all concerned exco-members were present to defend their stands.

This is not true. As you have all seen, the people concerned have come to address the press conference. The people that have supposedly resigned their office are here to debunk that allegation and to tell the story of what is actually transpiring,” Ambassador Kyari said.

He said most of the people, whose names appeared on the list were either not in town or were ill and could not have come out.

According to him, the party received the complaint of character assassination from Yamaltu Deba, allegedly by some disillusioned elements to cause disaffection within the party.

Consequently, he said the party was set to constitute a committee of inquiry to investigate the matter and ensure that punitive measures, such as court action, was taken against the perpetrators.

The Gombe State APC Publicity Secretary said the party had equally set up a committee that was formally going to write to Senator Goje to apologise for the recent skirmishes within the party, after which the constitution of the party would be applied to address the challenges within the party.

“Politics is all about persuasion. It’s all about development. The government of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has brought about positive development to the people of Gombe State. But certain individuals feel it is their right to control power. No, it’s not true. They say to leave the stage when the ovation is loudest so that it can be recorded and remembered tomorrow,” Ambassador Kyari said.
