Gombe: APC flags off Campaign Rally, welcomes former PDP Members

The All Progressives Congress Party (APC) in Gombe state has flagged off its campaign rally amidst jubilation as it received former stalwarts of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and their supporters.
During the event, former PDP governorship aspirant, Dr. Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna, led former PDP members, including the immediate past deputy governor of the state, Dr. Charles Iliya, to be formally received into the APC family.

While addressing APC chieftains, among them the national chairman of the party and thousands of supporters at the Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said the APC-led administration in Gombe state had delivered its campaign promises to the people of the state.

 

 

Governor Yahaya said this was evident in the construction of hundreds of kilometres of roads across the state, the provision of quality and affordable health care services, quality education to the people and putting the state on the path of sustainable economic development, among others.

The Gombe state governor said his administration had also been strengthened through the massive decamping of some notable PDP stalwarts and their supporters to the APC family which, according to him, is an indication that the party is doing well and that people are satisfied with the party’s political philosophy.
“I want to assure you Mr. National Chairman that we have delivered on our mandate and the ordinary people in the state are happy with us and we are confident that we shall suppass our last outing at the polls.
“It is for this reason that I call on APC supporters, especially the contestants to brace up for the political battle ahead,” said Governor Yahaya.
He said the stage was set for politicking to begin, now that the flag off of the APC campaign in the state, for candidates to market the party across the State, based on the APC impresive performance indicators.
Governor Yahaya, therefore, called on APC supporters in the state to unite for victory in the 2023 elections from the state to the national level.

 

 

Meanwhile, the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, described the mass turnout of the people of the state as a clear indication of the leadership style of Governor Yahaya.
He encouraged the Governor not to be swayed by the antics of the few, but to remain firm and decisive in his administration’s policies and programmes, which have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
The APC National Chairman expressed confidence that the party would perform excellently in the forthcoming election at all levels.
There were goodwill messages in solidarity with the second term bid of Governor Inuwa from Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state represented by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana; former Governor of Borno State, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff; Bauchi State APC Gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshall Sadiq Baba Abubakar; House of Representatives member, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo; Sen. Joshua Lidani; and Dr. Bala Bello Tinka who announced a donation of one hundred and fifty million naira (N150, 000, 000) to support the party leaders,  elders, stakeholders and  supporters.

 

 

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of flags to the APC governorship flag bearer, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, and National Assembly candidates by the national chairman of the party.
There was also the inauguration of the recently constituted campaign council.
