Gombe APC swears in new LG Executives

The Gombe State Chapter of the All-Progressives Congress, APC, has sworn in the executive members of the party in all the 11 local government areas of the state.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, called for cooperation from all the wards to the local government level, so that the forthcoming state and zonal congresses, as well as the National convention, will subsequently guarantee victory for the party.

Governor Yahaya directed all APC offices, down to the grassroots to be active always, so that members of the public will be able to present their challenges to the party easily.

He said the party was ever ready with officials waiting to listen to all complaints, believing that despite the present challenges being experienced, all the challenges would be tackled if all members cooperated with the party executives.

Governor Yahaya called for patience and understanding, especially from those who had expected to be part of the executives but could not make it, saying there will always be something for them to do for the party.

He said the doors of the party were wide opened for all intending and interested members willing to join the APC.

The Gombe State Governor commended the large turnout of party members and supporters, saying, “The large bunch of the broomsticks is being held as one.”

Governor Yahaya also commended the successful conduct of the ward and local government congresses and the overwhelming support and cooperation of party members, who agreed and adopted the agreed directives of the party at the national level on the means of conducting the congresses.

He corroborated the words of the Acting Chairman of the APC in Gombe State that aggrieved members should guard against the violation of party rules that aggrieved parties should follow the stipulated channels approved by the party to register their grievances, instead of resorting to the courts.

Governor Yahaya said the despite various challenges his administration encountered after coming into power in 2019, the support of the party led to the level of progress and development being recorded in the state.

The Acting Caretaker Chairman of the Party in Gombe State, Mr. Nite Amangal, called on the newly sworn-in local government executives of the APC to be worthy ambassadors of the party by being loyal and supportive, as well as respectful to the party and the administration of Governor Yahaya.

Mr. Amangal urged the new executives to always respect party leaders and party constitution but warned that any aggrieved member who resorts to taking his/her grievances to the courts risked being expelled from the party.

 “Whoever decides to take any matter to the courts, should know that the constitution of the party stipulates that such a person, who does that without following laid down processes, should be expelled from the party. Obeying the laid down regulations and cooperation of all party members will guarantee success for the party in 2023,” Mr. Amangal said.

Various speakers during the swearing-in all called on the new local government executives of the APC to be 100% loyal to the party.

They urged the executives to ensure that all party members, right from the grassroots, should be carried along and never be discriminated against, irrespective of the person’s background, while all grievances should be investigated.

At the end, all speakers urged the party executives at all levels to welcome with open arms any new member willing to join the party.
