Gombe: Governor Yahaya, Emir Abubakar observe Eid Prayers

The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has joined the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III and other Muslims in the state to observe the 2- Raka’at Eid prayer to mark the commencement of Eid Al-Adha Sallah celebration in Gombe.

The Eid prayer, which took place at the main Eid ground in Gombe was led by the Deputy Chief Imam of Gombe, Ustaz Aliyu Hammari and was also attended by top government functionaries, including the Speaker and members of Gombe State House of Assembly, Secretary to the State Government, Acting Head of Civil Service, Permanent Secretaries and other faithful.

The Governor had earlier in a goodwill message, enjoined the people of the state to imbibe the lessons of Eid Al- Adha which connote sacrifice, love, unity and obedience and demonstrate the same in their daily lives for the good of the society and humanity at large.

He also enjoined the people to continue to make sacrifices for the growth and development of Gombe state and Nigeria at large, even as he urged for special prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all leaders at all levels.

The Governor commended the courageous steps so far taken by Tinubu, noting that The President has demonstrated capacity, passion and zeal to move the country forward. We must therefore give him our full support and encouragement.

The Governor appreciated the traditional institution, community and religious leaders, and the entire people of Gombe state for their support and understanding while reiterating his administration’s resolve to continue to provide quality leadership and consolidate on the gains so far recorded for a better tomorrow.

He later led the Deputy Governor, Speaker SSG, Acting Head of Civil Service and other top government functionaries to witness a spectacular mini durbar, known as Jafi at the Emir’s Palace.
