The Gombe State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru has inspected medical facilities in the state, which included the newly built Bio-Medical unit, which is expected to serve as the Drug Management Agency when completed.
The Bio-Medical unit is part of the requirement for the establishment of a drug management agency.
Dr. Dahiru, who was in the company of development partners was at the State Government’s Drug Revenue Funds Commodities, where he inspected drugs available and checked the equipment stores, which store essential medical equipment.
The Gombe State Commissioner for Health was also at the cold store, which stores consumables such as vaccines, child spacing and others, after which he inspected the logistics, monitoring and the coordinating unit to check the information management gadgets.
Dr. Dahiru said after the inspection that he was highly impressed by what he saw and urged officials of the facilities to be diligent and do proper documentation as a priority, so as to ensure accountability.
He promised that the equipment would soon be distributed to secondary medical care facilities across the state.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had approved the renovation of the facility by providing permanent fencing and a gatehouse, as well as the construction of the biomedical store.
