Gombe pays salaries, pensions ahead of Sallah celebrations

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has directed the payment of salaries and pensions for all workers in the state, including those in the local government areas.

Confirming this development, the Commissioner for Finance, Malam Muhammad Gambo Magaji, revealed that the directive had since been implemented, with all workers and pensioners paid to enable them celebrate the eid el- Kabir Sallah festivity.

He said the Governor had also approved the sum of 73.2 million naira for the payment of compensation to 198 land owners who had their lands reclaimed by government for various development purposes.

According to the commissioner, 96 land owners have been paid 48.2 million naira in Kaltungo to pave way for the construction of the permanent site of the recently established Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo.

In Gona, Akko LGA, 102 land owners were also paid 25.06 million naira as compensation for the proposed golf course to be constructed through a Public-Private Partnership arrangement by the Gombe state Government.
