The Gombe State House of Assembly has unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence on Governor Muhammadu Yahaya in appreciation of the remarkable impact he has made in the various sectors of the economy.

Moving a motion on the floor of the house during plenary, the House leader, Mr. Ladan Gaule, said the Governor had done extremely well in the areas of Education, Health Care Delivery, Water supply, Roads construction, Agriculture and other infrastructural developments within the two years of his stewardship as the Governor of the State.

Similarly, other members who speak up in support of the motion all said the Governor Yahaya had done well in their various constituencies, such as the construction of rural roads, rural water supply and electrification, construction and renovation of hospitals and health care centres, as well as distribution and sales of fertilizers to farmers at a subsidised rate.

Speaking after passing the Vote of Confidence on the Governor, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Mr. Abubakar Luggerewo equally appreciated Governor Yahaya for creating an atmosphere of mutual respect between the Executive and the Legislature and the prompt execution of Laws and Resolutions passed in the House.

Shortly after the session in the house, members of the House, led by the Speaker, went to the Government House where they presented the resolution of the House to the Governor.

Mr. Luggerewo highlighted the laudable achievements of the governors, such as ‘the Gombe Goes Green tree planting project, which has employed 27 thousand people to care for the tree, the 10-year Development Plan, as well as the numerous projects that have positively affected the lives of the people.’

He said he was able to record these achievements during its oversight functions to the various projects in the states.

Responding, Governor Yahaya thanked the 24-member house for the gesture, saying the achievements were recorded with their support and collaboration.

He said since the time of the campaign up to date, he had not relented in his promises he made to the people, promising more achievements to be recorded in the state through the collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature.
